Two Chicks On Books is a new blog on the block so wanted to introduce you to them and get the word out about their site. I really enjoy their reviews so I hope you'll check them out!
1. Tell us a little bit about your blog and what genres ya'll like to review.
Jaime- I read anything really but I'm really into YA, Paranormal Romance, and Sci-FI so that's what I've been reviewing the most of lately. That's why we started the blog to show our love of books.
Patricia- We started this blog as a way to show our love of reading.
2. What made you decide to start blogging?
Jaime- I'm on twitter, facebook, and goodreads and I have tons of blogger friends. I was sitting there reading a review from one of them and I just thought hey I could be doing this. So I asked Patricia if she'd be interested and she said she was. The rest is history :)
Patricia -I honestly had never thought of it. Jaime approached me with the idea of it and I decided why not? So here we are and I must say that I am happy with the experience so far. I've never thought that I'd be blogging about anything.
3. Tell us a little bit about youselves.
Jaime-I'm 34 years old I live in Sacramento, CA. I'm a hairdresser but I quit my job to take care of my grandmother who has terminal cancer so I have tons of free time to read. I have been an avid reader since I picked up my first book Interview With A Vampire by Anne Rice when I was a freshman in high school. I enjoy reading, NASCAR, baseball, music, and cooking. I also love going to as many book signings I can. I don't have any kids but I have a brand new beautiful nephew and two step-nephews and one step-niece.
Patricia -I have been happily (most of the time) married for almost 17 years. I have one girl and two boys ages 15, 13 and 7. I get very busy and involved in my kid's goings on such as scouting, their various school activities and church. So I tend to keep busy. In spite of all the chaos I love to read. If I don't read at the very least right before going to bed I can't seem to fall asleep. It is a way for me to de-stress at the end of the day. However, I have been reading much more than at night lately and currently have a goal of reading 75 books this year.
4. What is your current favorite read and a past read that you just can't forget about?
Jaime- Anything by Maria V. Snyder or Jeri Smith-Ready right now. I also love The Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. From my past The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle by LJ Smith and yes I did read them when they first came out in the 90's I also love all of Anne Rice's work.
Patricia -I've read so many good books as of late...that is a difficult question. I think that the Study Series by Maria V. Snyder is at the top right now. Maria does such a wonderful job of telling a passionate story of self realization and confronting our fears. Past read....hmmm...Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling hands down. I started reading this series when book two came out. My little brother who was 11 or 12 at the time kept bugging me to read it. I was in my early twenties and felt a little foolish for liking it so much. But the more I read the more I got out of it. The relationships in this series to me are what drive the story forward. The love and loss that one experiences throughout life is what keeps this story strong.
