YA Review: Awakened by Ednah Walters

I have to say that I saw mention of this book first on Twitter. Well, I snooped around and was immediately attracted to the cover. I love it and I think it's awesome. When I read the summary I KNEW that this was a book for me. I was so happy to have the opportunity to review this one because I was sure that it would be a treasure and I was right.

I loved Ednah Walters' writing style which really keeps your attention and sucks you into the story. The characters are fantastic and even thought they have special powers they are still "real."

I LOVED the stories base of good against evil and the battle for redemption and forgiveness. There was so much to this book that it really makes it worth reading. I say that if you are a fan of fallen angels or any "angel" type stories then you might want to check this one out.

I was so sad when the book ended because I really wanted to continue with the story. I know I want to read the next installment and can't wait for it to become available!

Most teens turn sixteen and get the license to drive, Lil Falcon gets the license to kill demons, but no one told her she is not supposed to fall in love with one. At approximately 87,000 words, THE AWAKENING written by my client Ednah Walters is a compelling young adult paranormal romance novel.

Orphaned as a child and raised by an eccentric grandfather, Lil is concerned with surviving high school and is unaware she's a Guardian—a being with super powers charged with killing demons and protecting humanity. But when she meets Bran, a mysterious boy with amazing abilities, his psi energy unlocks her latent powers. But Bran has a secret that can destroy their growing relationship. He's part demon.

But in her heart, Lil knows Bran is not evil. So when her grandfather is kidnapped by a powerful nature-bender and Bran is the only one who knows where he's being kept, Lil convinces the other Guardians to trust him, not knowing her grandfather is just the bait. And the truth that she discovers in the demonic enclave may just destroy everything she believes in, unless she makes the right choice—love and sacrifice.

  1. Sounds like you enjoyed this one immensely! Rings true for the current trend in YA though....angels are apparantly the new vampires. Thanks for sharing!
