Today we'll have Tessa Dare's book Twice Tempted By A Rogue featured and reviewed here at The Cajun Book Lady along with a great giveaway. So pull up a chair and let's check out this trilogy!
Thoughts:Lots of mixed feeling about this one. While the first book was good, this one was slower moving. It seems in this book the characters were somewhat out of place for their time period. Meredith is a strong woman but she is too forward and willful for a woman in that time. On the other hand, she is a strong character and not afraid to explore her sexuality. Rhys does not stay true to his character in the first book and he seems very determined to believe he has no control over his life and everything is dependent on fate. Once again on the other side of it, Rhys has a haunted past which he effectively overcomes by the end of the story. He tries to make amends to the town to make up for what he felt he did as a young man.
There were a few too many story lines that were started but not wrapped up at the end although it did have a happy ending. There could have been more emphasis on the Stud Club which it appears is the basis of the trilogy. Now all that said, the first book was good...Even though this book is part of a trilogy it has the ability to stand alone. The third book in the trilogy, Three Nights with a Scoundrel, just came out and while reading I found myself laughing out loud before finishing the first chapter. The third book promises to be an exciting read.
So like I said, there were mixed feelings about the second book while the first and third books were enjoyed. So while this book may not have been a winner alone, the three books are good together as a group.
