YA Review: Soulstice: The Devouring Book 2 by Simon Holt

*Le sigh* I LOVE these books! (and I can't wait for book 3) So here's the scoop:

Book Details:

Reading level: Young Adult
Hardcover: 272 pages
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (September 1, 2009)

ISBN-10: 0316035718
ISBN-13: 978-0316035712

What I Thought:

Awesome! That's what I have to say about Soulstice! I adored Book 1 so I was really excited about reviewing this one. Simon Holt does NOT disappoint in Book 2. The basic idea of this story is Good vs. Evil but the author puts a wicked spin on it with the legend of the "Vours."

I love Reggie because she's such a brave character and in her own way (even thought she's secretive) totally loyal to the people she cares about; I also like her best friend Aaron. They're two "normal" teens who make an awesome team in this book.

There were lots of surprises in this one! Character's that I didn't expect to see again popped up and poor Reggie has to battle more fearscapes. (There's an awesome psychological element to these books.) The ending was good but I'll say that it's the epilogue that really got me pumped up for book 3! I can't wait to see what happens next!

About The Book:

(from Amazon)

The terrifying, nail-biting, and grossly intriguing sequel to The Devouring.

It's been six months since Reggie first discovered and fought against the Vours, malicious and demonic beings that inhabit human bodies on the eve of the Winter Solstice.

The Vours still haunt Reggie, but only in her dreams-until one night, when an unexpected visitor turns her nightmares into reality.
