My Review:
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this one. There's a it of mystery, a bit of romance, and a bit of paranormal. (keep in mind this is not paranormal as in vampires and werewolves, but as in ghosts and contact with them) It was a defenite spin on what the regular paranormal romance reader thinks of. It was so refreshing to see more of a real life take to the story...because let's face it...we all wonder what really exists right?
Michael Cormier's ability build up his characters slowly but surely was amazing. He gave you just enough to keep you hooked on the story, but not enough that you'd figure out the outcome right away. I loved that I was able to make the connections between the characters myself but not feel as if I knew the ending.
It really was a type of "love has no boundaries" story. I even decided to check into some of the things I found in the story because I found it fascinating. I ended up reading the book in one sitting because I wanted to know what happened to the characters and how all the details fell into place.
I have to say I loved the ending...it was perfect, and left a little tear in my eye for the main man of the book. So this one gets a defenite thumbs up from me!
I hope to more work from Michael in the future because I was REALLY impressed with his work on "Sumner Island."

  4. This sounds like a great book. I'm picky about my paranormal stuff because I don't want to read about vamps all day long. Nice cover too.

  6. I haven't actually read this book yet, but I plan to seeing as the girl the book is about, Maria Boudreau, that's my name. Exactly. So I now HAVE to read it. Also, it seems extremely well written. Nice review.
